Introducing some of the best and the brightest new ideas in sustainable design – naturally. USGBC’s NaturalTalent 2007 Design Competition is open to university students and individuals with less than five years of experience in the building industry. Participants compete in a local competition – 19 USGBC chapters around the country signed on to host competitions this year. Winning local designers move on to compete for a national award at Greenbuild Chicago 2007 in November. The Natural Talent Design Competition provides an applied learning experience in the principles of integrated design, sustainability, innovation, and social consciousness – all of components of the LEED™ Green Building Rating System. This year’s Kansas City competition involved design of a Habitat for Humanity sustainable prototype house.
