Making A Difference
As a member-driven organization, USGBC committees are the primary means by which the organization develops consensus-based programs to serve the green building industry.
Our committees are a great way to become involved in the chapter and network with other green building industry professionals. Each group typically meets once a month at various locations throughout the Metro area.
Check the EVENTS page for particulars on committee meeting times and locations. Contact the appropriate committee chair for more information.
2009/2010 PRIMARY COMMITTEES
Core Committee
USGBC committees are composed of a core working committee and a larger members-only corresponding committee that may be unlimited in size. The core committee is responsible for recommending policies to the USGBC Board and providing policy oversight to relevant programs. The core committees are composed of a committee chair and vice-chair, a secretary if no staff liaison serves in this capacity, other officers as needed, and the additional core members.

** DG: "Dynamic Governance" is a process adopted within the Central Plains Chapter - as well as other USGBC chapters nationwide - designed to improve communications and policy-making across the organization. Dynamic governance offers a management tool to better utilize all the intelligence within the chapter, leading to increased productivity and a more efficient, flexible and responsive organization.
