Drew Rimmer is a registered professional engineer with over 15 years of experience in the A/E industry as an M/E/P consultant with Henderson Engineers, Inc.  Drew has been involved with the USGBC Greater KC Chapter since the organizing group in late 2002.  He has been responsible for developing the Chapter bylaws and all necessary paperwork for the Chapter's Incorporation and 501c3 non-profit status.  Drew has served as the Chapter's Treasurer, Vice Chair and has served on the USGBC Heartland Regional Council for over two years.

Jay has a passion for engineering; making technology work for people by understanding the concepts and systems available and communicating these to decision makers. Part of the mission of the USGBC has been to further advance the education in the complexities and nuances of these technologies to the design community to encourage their use and development while understanding their limitations.  He believes helping advance the education of the design community by sharing our experiences will help us all advance the technologies that will become commonplace to our children.  Jay is a sustaining partner of 21 years of marriage to his wife, Angel and they enjoy their 3 daughters. 

Jay is a Charter Member of the USGBC Greater Kansas City Chapter and has served as the Finance Committee Chair and Treasurer.

Dave Roesler is a register architect with over 30 years of experience in the A/E industry with Hallmark Cards, Inc.  Dave has been active with the USGBC Greater Kansas City Chapter since it began as an organizing group.  He has served as Co-Chair of the Membership Committee, Co-Chair of Greening the Heartland 2006 Organizing Committee and Chair of the Chapter for the past two years.

Stephanie Graham, IIDA, LEED AP 
Sustainability Coordinator 
HOK Sport Venue Event

As sustainability coordinator at HOK Sport Venue Event, Stephanie leads the firm’s efforts to incorporate sustainable design principles into the office practices and projects.  For more than a decade in her career, she has focused on leading design teams interested in incorporating sustainable architecture and/or LEED Certification into a diverse array of projects, including airports, office buildings, convention centers, arenas and other collegiate, professional and civic sports projects.  Stephanie leads design charrettes to identify sustainable design goals and strategies for project teams and their owners, guides the sustainable design implementation process on projects, and advises project teams on LEED interpretation of credit achievement as well as documentation for LEED certification. Stephanie also leads training efforts to help HOK employees become LEED Accredited and to educate the staff on topics related to sustainability.

Stephanie regularly speaks and writes on a variety of topics related to sustainable design.  She serves on the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce Environment Committee, the International Association of Assembly Managers (IAAM) Sustainability Task Force and has served on the Board of Directors for the USGBC Greater Kansas City Chapter for the past three years.

Brad Nies, AIA, LEED AP – BNIM Architects

Director of Elements

Brad is director for Elements, a division of BNIM Architects that focuses on sustainable design strategies and research. He is a registered architect in the state of Missouri with 12 years of experience and a LEED® Accredited Professional.  Brad has worked on several LEED Certified projects including two that were awarded Platinum Certification.

Brad started tracking the environmental footprint of his family and their lifestyle in 2002, creatively developing a personal methodology before there were any guides. In 2005 Brad led The Kansas City Construction Waste Management Forum, a volunteer group of AEC professionals and regional stakeholders, leading to the development of recyclespot.org. Brad speaks at regional and national AEC conferences and Universities.

Brad served on the founding steering committee for the USGBC Greater Kansas City  Chapter and has served as co-chair of programs and Board Member at-large.  Brad is former chair of the AIA Kansas City Chapter COTE (Committee On The Environment).

Chad J. Althouse, LEED® AP

Larson Binkley, Inc.

Chad has nine years experience as a project manager for all aspects of turnkey building projects. Prior to joining Larson Binkley, Chad worked for a mechanical contractor where his project management experience involved a wide range of project types including retail properties, schools, office buildings, banks, telecommunication sites, industrial processing plants, warehousing facilities, health care clinics/hospitals, religious structures, and multifamily housing.

Many of the education projects on which Chad has been project manager are either LEED® registered or are designed to sustainable criteria. Chad is a LEED® accredited professional and is active in USGBC.

As a Larson Binkley project manager, Chad is responsible for overseeing engineering design, contract management, consultant coordination, budget and schedule performance, project closeout and customer service. His strong organizational and problem-solving abilities along with his people skills make him an effective team leader and manager for his clients’ projects.

Jeremy Knoll, LEED® AP –

Born, raised, and now living again in Kansas City, Jeremy Knoll is currently an Intern Architect and LEED AP with PGAV Architects. He helped to establish and has led the Kansas City EGB since late 2005, and was especially inspired by attending his first Greenbuild conference in Atlanta that year. After starting his company’s recycling program, he took the lead on certification for the firm’s first LEED project. To further these efforts, he founded PGAV’s VISION team, whose aim is to incorporate sustainable principles into every project and aspect of the company.

At school, home, and work, Jeremy has devoted himself to the integration of sustainable practices; He’s recently taken on leadership of EGB and USGBC efforts for rebuilding in the Lower 9th Ward of New Orleans and the residents of Greensburg. He currently serves as an elected member of the National Committee of the Emerging Green Builders.
